684,964. Actuation of switches. BRISTOL AEROPLANE CO., Ltd. Feb. 20, 1951 [Feb. 27, 1950], No. 5020/50. Class 38 (v) [Also in Group XXXIII] A microswitch 14 is operated by a plunger 6 subjected to an adjustable loading spring 15 and the difference of pressure on the sides of a diaphragm 12, one side of which is connected by a pipe 22 to an aircraft propeller slip-stream, while the other side is connected by a pipe 21 to the free airstream, for example to a pitot head near the wing tip, whereby if, due to engine failure, the pressure difference falls below a predetermined value the switch 14 is actuated to initiate operation of a feathering circuit or to operate a warning signal, such as a lamp (see Group XXXIII).
