Maximum prepayment, preventing insertion of coins exceeding; indicators. When the credit registered by the prepayment mechanism of Specification 626,884 has reached the maximum, movement of the coin pocket to its coin discharging position is prevented and the full-stroke detent engaging the coin wheel is withdrawn to permit reverse rotation of the pocket. The coin pocket is effectively disconnected from the quantity mechanism by the unmeshing of the resiliently meshed intermediate bevel gear described in the prior Specification. As illustrated, a radial arm 5 carried by the sleeve 3 of the credit-indicating drum 4 abuts against a lug 6a on the backplate of the coin barrel 7 when the indicator drum reaches the positions which correspond to maximum debit and credit. In the latter position the arm 5 also engages a wire 10 secured to a disc 9 and turns the disc eccentrically about the spindle 8 which drives the indicator drum. The disc consequently raises a wire link 11 to disengage the full-stroke pawl 12 from the coin wheel 13 by a movement which also places a stop 12a on the pawl in the path of the coin pocket (not shown) to its coin-discharging position.
