Class 64 (ii) [Also in Group XXVII] Sound-absorbing panels 18 for a jet engine muffler are separated by a space 23 from an outer sheetmetal wall 16 and comprise layers 21, 22 of soundabsorbing material, e.g. metallic tinsel or mineral wool, between perforated metal plates 17, 20. There may be perforated plates separating the layers and sheets of asbestos fibres may be disposed within the panels and adjacent the perforated plates or between the layers. The space 23 may be packed with soundabsorbing material. Specification 684,510 is referred to.
