Abstract

683,357. Agricultural implements. NIPPERESS, S. J. Jan. 29, 1951 [July 20, 1950], No. 2243/51. Class 6(i) A foldable harrow bar comprising two sections 7, 8 pivotally attached to a positioning frame, is arranged to pivot rearwardly to pass through gateways. The positioning frame comprises a pair of semicircular plates 9, 10 provided with pairs of co-registering holes 13 for pins 14 which pass through holes in the sections 7, 8. A draw-bar 23 is pivoted on the plates 9, 10 and is provided with a coupling portion 29 which is resiliently held between upper and lower springs housed in an enclosure 32. Each section is provided with a swivelling transport wheel 39 and a wheel is mounted under the positioning frame and is steered by movement of the draw-bar 23.. Depending brackets 43 carry bars 44 for the attachment of harrow units 46 which are .supported for transport purposes on railings 49, attached to the sections 7, 8. The sections are held in the partly folded position shown by means of a two-part strut 15, 16 and are held in the fully extended position by means of tie-rods 21, 22.
