Abstract

683,298. Spray-producers. WALKER, R., and COOKE, W. A. Feb. 2, 1951 [Feb. 6, 1950], No. 2975/50. Class 69 (iii). A nozzle includes a tubular member 1 with a rod 6 sliding therein and comprising a conical projection 7 and a sleeve 9 of rubber or soft metal. The rod is normally urged forwardly by a spring 12 so that the sleeve engages a flange 3 to close the nozzle outlet. A cap 16, which contains a plug 17 with a threaded bore in which screws a rod 19 with a helical passage in its surface leading to an outlet 18, is screwed to the nozzle. A pivoted lever 13 pulls the rod rearwardly to open the nozzle outlet, and a nut 15 may hold the rod in the open position.
