The plate 19 has lugs engaging the lid hinge pin, one lug 23 gripping the pin, the other end of which is secured to the lid by an arm 18. When the catch 14 of the closed lid is released, the lid springs open under the action of torsion induced in the pin by movement of the plate 19 relative to the lid.
