Abstract

681,971. Cartridge belts. BREVETS AERO-MECANIQUES SOC.-ANON. May 16, 1951 [June 16, 1950], No. 11458/51. Class 92 (ii) Relates to cartridge belts of the kind having links composed of two open front clips 2a, 2b and a single rear open clip 1 having flanges 3a, 3b adapted to engage over the curved surfaces of the front clips of the adjacent link. According to the invention the link portions 1 and 2a, 2b are interconnected by two tabs 4a, 4b, extending on either side of the front end of the rear clip and lying in a plane parallel to the embraced cartridges, the tabs being connected to the rear of the front clips by bight.parts 5a, 5b whose ridges are parallel or nearly 'parallel to the axis of the cartridges, and whose distance apart e exceeds the total width of the clip 1. By this means the clip 1 of one link can pass freely between the bight parts of the adjacent link. The bight parts may be shaped as .shown in Fig. 7, to enable adjacent bights to overlap and thus to enable the belt to fold sufficiently to enable the cartridges I, III, on either side of a cartridge II to contact each other.
