Abstract
681,913. Switch handles. VICTOR, M. June 5, 1950 [Nov. 24, 1949], No. 30125/49. Class 38 (v) [Also in Group VII] In an internally electrically heated pressing iron (see Group VIII) in which a U- shaped arm is pivoted about its free ends to the rear end of the iron and in which the outer end of the arm is weighted in order to tilt the iron from the work when the arm is raised to an upwardly inclined position and when the pressure is removed from the handle of the iron, movement of the arm to the inclined position and vice-versa may actuate a switch 10 to on and off positions respectively. The switch is housed in a body part 3 of the iron and is operated by a finger 11 connected to one of two pivot pins 8<SP>1</SP> carrying the appropriate member 6<SP>1</SP> of the U-shaped arm.
