Abstract

681,393. Friction lighters. RONSON ART METAL WORKS, Inc. April 12, 1950 [April 12, 1949], No. 9005/50. Class 75(iii) A lighter casing in which the bottom end plate 18 is secured to the side wall 16 of a fuel chamber 10 has the top end plate 17 held in position by a locking member 27 mounted on the end of a flint tube 24. The flint tube 24 is secured to the bottom plate 18 and the top and bottom plates 17, 18, formed separate of the wall 16, are soldered or brazed to the wall 16. The locking member is a nut 27 with a spherical outer surface to position the tube 24 in the top plate aperture 22 so as to be in proper relation to the friction wheel 14 and after tightening is soldered to the top plate 17.
