680,073. Mixing and kneading appliances. JENSEN, R., and JENSEN, H. A., (trading as DANSK APPARATFABRIK). Oct. 11, 1950, No. 24799/50. Class 86 A household machine , e.g. for mixing or kneading, consists of an encased worm drive unit having an output shaft which receives a detachable vessel and an input shaft which is aligned with and coupled to the shaft of an electric motor, a turret for supporting tools within the vessel being provided in fixed connection with either the casing of the worm drive unit or the frame of the electric motor. As described a worm 8 and worm wheel 9 are mounted in a worm gear casing 7, the vertical shaft 10 of the worm wheel, having at its upper end a socket 11 for detachably receiving a bowl 12, Fig. 1, (not shown). A web 24 extends horizontally from the casing 7 and a turret 27 is attached at its lower end to this web. Arms carrying a mixing roller and scraper within the bowl are received by the holes 28 and 29 in the upper end of the turret 27. An electric motor 20 is secured by its frame 5 to an electrically insulating plate 6 which is in turn secured to the gear casing 7, the' worm shaft 16 passing through a hole in the plate 6 and the motor shaft 21 and the worm shaft 16 being coaxially aligned and coupled together by a rubber tube 22 attached to each shaft by a clamp 23. A rubber belt 38 surrounds the motor 20 and an iron bar 46 clamped around the belt provides means for attaching legs at 47 and 48. Further legs are provided in holes 49 and 50 Fig. 3 (not shown) in the casing 7 and web 24. As shown in Fig. 5 the legs comprise a screw 39 passing through rubber blocks 41, 42 between which the bottom of an enclosing casing 17 (see also Fig. 1, not shown) may be clamped. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), a web 34 to support the turret is attached to the frame 5 of the electric motor.
