679,612. Moulding rubber footwear. DUNLOP, S., (Svit, Narodni Podnik). Nov. 1, 1946, No. 32466/46. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Nov. 1, 1946.] Class 87(ii) A ruber sole is pressed on to a prepared upper carried on a last 10 with simultaneous vulcanizing by means of a loop 1 provided with a heated press plunger 8 which is moved vertically by screwthreaded spindles 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, the loop carrying pivoted arms 4, 4<SP>1</SP> linked in toggle lever portion to heated holding pieces 5, 5<SP>1</SP> each forming respectively with pivotedj supporting rods 6, 6<SP>1</SP> a parallelogram link system. The arrangement of the loop 1 causes the holding pieces 5, 5' and associated jaws 7, 7<SP>1</SP> to move towards or away from each other with simultaneous vertical movement of the press plunger 8. The spindles 2, 2<SP>1</SP> are driven by gears 17, 18, 19, 20 from an electric motor driving the shaft 21 of the bevel pinion 20, the whole operation being automatically controlled by a system of switches. The last 10 is carried by a column 11 adjustably secured to the base plate 3.
