679,452. Making refractory articles. SOC. ANON. DES MANUFACTURES DES GLACES ET PRODUITS CHIMIQUES DE ST.-GOBAIN, CHAUNY, ET CIREY. April 23, 1951 [April 25, 1950], No. 9421/51. Class 87(i) Silica-aluminous refractory articles are made by heating kaolin at a temperature of 600‹ to 750‹C to destroy the crystalline structure, cooling, comminuting, moulding under pressure and then firing at about 1500‹C. Up to 5 per cent unfired sillimanite may be added after the cooling.
