[Also in Group XXXIV] In a disc brake for an airctaft wheel, the hydraulic actuator cylinders 26 are mounted directly upon the wheel supporting strut 11, so that the strut itself acts as the torque resisting element of the brake. When the actuator cylinders 26, instead of being arranged diametrically as shown, are arranged in groups adjacent to one another, special lugs projecting from the strut 11 may be provided. An air space is provided between the interior of the actuator cylinders and the surface of the strut to minimise conduction of heat from the brake to the cylinders.
