Abstract

In a process of preparing iron and coal briquettes for blast furnace use from iron ore flotation concentrates by mixing the concentrate with coal and carbonizing, the concentrate is first mixed with a viscous hydrocarbonaceous binder in amount from 2.5-15 per cent to render the concentrate dustless. The mixture of concentrate and binder is heated to melt the binder, mixed with ground coal, briquetted and carbonized. Specification 501,374 [Group XII], is referred to.
