Abstract
Enamel insulation is removed from wires by treating with an organic sulphonic acid, heating to at least 200 DEG C and wiping off the carbonized layer formed. Aqueous or dilute alcoholic solutions of aromatic sulphonic acids such as toluene sulphonic acid or napthalene sulphonic acid are suitable.
