Abstract

678,480. Boxes; packages. WINGFOOT CORPORATION. June 30, 1950 [April 3, 1950], No. 16378/50. Classes 18 and 94(i). To prevent undue strain being imposed on the sealed corners of a pouch containing liquid which is formed from a tube of flexible material sealed at each end, the pouch is supported within a box by members which engage the mid-portions of the sides and ends of the pouch. In one arrangement folded corrugated paper supports 16 are glued to the inner faces of the sides of the box, and serve to retain the corners of the pouch from contact with the box. Alternatively, the box may be formed from a one piece blank folded into a rectangular tube, flaps 29, 30 or 40, 41, 53, 54 being folded inwardly and secured together at the ends of the tube and serving to support the mid portions of the ends of the pouches. The pouches may be packed singly or in quantity.
