Abstract

678,428. Impact - pulverizers. WESTFALIA DINNENDAHL GROPPEL AKT.- GES. March 14, 1951 [March 14, 1950], No. 6174/51. Class 59 The hammer blades 5 of an impactpulverizer are secured in tapered slots 2 in a rotor 1 by chucks which are inserted loosely in the slots and grip the blades under the influence of centrifugal force produced by rotating the rotor. Recesses in the blades 5 are engaged by ribs 6 on the jaws 3, 4 of the chucks of which the jaws 4, engaging the trailing edges of the blades, may be longer than the jaws 3. In a modification, wedges in engagement with each other and with the bottom surfaces of the jaws 3, 4 are adjusted by a nut and bolt to produce an initial clamping action.
