[Class 126] [Also in Group XXVII] A sparking plug, Fig. 1, employing frictionally generated heat, comprises a stationary member Cp and a rotary member Sp carried by a spindle S driven by gearing g. Increased pressure between the friction surfaces is applied periodically by a cam C2 and simultaneously a sleeve t is rotated so that the explosive mixture may enter the plug through opening B. A hot plate, Fig. 6, employing frictionally generated heat, comprises a rotating spindle S carrying a friction member Sf co-operating with a fixed plate C forming a cooking or boiling plate on which a vessel Wa may be placed. The heat generated may be regulated by varying the speed of spindle S, or the pressure between the surfaces due to an adjustable weight W.
