677,938. Mounting road-vehicle bodies on underframes. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. May 8, 1950 [May 7, 1949; May 7, 1949], No. 11460/50. Classes 108(ii) and 108(iii) In a resilient mounting between a vehicle body and chassis frame in which a disc 6 forming a vertically-acting cushion, and a sleeve 5 forming a horizontally acting cushion, are united by screw means, the mounting is secured to either the body or chassis frame by a flange 14 interposed between the sleeve 5 and disc 6. In Fig. 1 the sleeve 5 has a reduced portion 5a entered within the disc 6. The flange 14 is secured by bolts 17 to bushes 3 which are welded to a longitudinal sill 2 of a vehicle body. The sleeve 5 and disc 6 are clamped against the flange 14 by means of foot and head members 7, 11. The latter are drawn together by the action of an internally-threaded bolt 8 which is engaged by a bolt 18, the head of which bears through a spring washer 19, disc 20 and fitting piece 21 on the underside of a chassis transverse member 1. In the modification, shown in Fig. 4, the sleeve 5 is contained in a rigid sleeve 25 welded to the flange 14, and the bolts 8, 18 are replaced by a single bolt 29 having a squared end 31 for adjustment purposes. A rigid sleeve 33 may be provided between the sleeve 5 and the bolt 29.
