677,782. Lawn-mowers. GRAVES, J. G. C. May 31, 1950 [June 8, 1949], No. 15314/49. Class 6(ii) Edge-trimming means permanently embodied in a lawn mower comprises a rotary bladed member 26, Fig. 1, chain-driven from a sprocket wheel 28 on an extension 15 of roller axle and in wiping engagement with a ledger plate 30, the edge trimmer being carried on the mower by a subsidiary frame 24, 40, which forms a casing enclosing the sprocket drive and pivoting on the axle 15 for movement into and out of action. The ledger plate 30 is carried by a bar 31 on the subsidiary frame 40 notched to receive a slidable pin on the main frame 22 for fastening the subsidiary frame in raised position, this frame being guided in an arcuate slot 37 on the main frame. The main driving roller 16 of the mower is shown fluted and a clutch (not shown is provided in the drive to the edge cutter.
