Abstract

677,263. Brackets. GENT, Ltd., R., and FREEMAN, A. Oct. 24, 1950. [Oct. 24, 1949] No. 27274/49. Class 52 (v). Means for supporting shelves 12 or other supports for articles to be displayed, on a pillar or upright 11 comprises a sleeve 10 slidable on the upright and formed for engagement upon and around a rubber or like deformable resilient ring 14 engaging the upright so that the ring is deformed under the weight of the sleeve and shelf &c. to increase its grip on the upright. A chamfered recess 13 is provided at the lower end of the sleeve 10 to engage the ring. Flat outer faces 15 of the sleeve are formed with dovetails 16 into which take wedges 19 on arms 17 supporting the annular shelf 12. Apertures 21 are formed in the sleeve between the arms 17. In a modification the sleeve is made in three segments with the interfitting apertured lugs connected by removable pins, each segment being integral with a shelf-carrying arm.
