715,439. Display stands. WHITMARLEY ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Aug. 28, 1953 [Aug. 29, 1952], No. 21709/52. Class 52(3) In a display stand the edge of a glass shelf f is received in a rubber or like gripping member g which is inserted, with the shelf, in a slot e in a pillar. The pillar may be a rod or tube or may be built up from spigotted elements a each having a slot and the U- section gripping members may be moulded in rubber or synthetic plastic to segmental or other shape to suit the cross-section of the pillar. If the slot is inclined to the axis of the pillar the parallel walls of the gripping member are staggered in plan.
