Class 78 (i) [Also in Groups VI and XIII] An endless chain 12 in an apparatus for tinning sardines (see Group VI) is formed by alternating series of male and female elements 28, 29 associated with rollers 30 connected through transverse rods 31 between adjacent two of which is a supplementary rod 32 adapted to form with the two adjacent rods 31 a carrier for the tins 23 in which the fish are to be tinned. Upwardly projecting lugs 33 are provided on the elements 29 in front of the rod 32 having openings 34 in which is detachably secured a cover for the tins.
