Abstract
676,094. Fumigating. PREL, Inc. Aug. 7, 1947 [March 22, 1946], No. 21590/47. Class 81 (i). [Also in Group XXVIII] A dispersing device for a container for fluids such as insecticides under pressure, the container having a pierceable self seating plastic closure such as is described in Specification 672,870, comprises a body portion with a cylindrical recess for fitting the container with a sliding movement, a tubular piercing pin carried by and forming a unitary structure with the body, the pin extending centrally downwards through the recess and terminating at the other end in a non-piercing discharge outlet at or adjacent the surface of the body. In Figs. 2 and 6, the pin c, bent at right angles and terminating in a nozzle b, is centrally placed in the recess k, optionally extending beyond the lower edge of the body e, as shown at c<SP>1</SP> in Fig. 6. In use the dispenser is fitted over the container when the pin pierces the plastic plug b to release the contents of the container. On withdrawal of the pin the plug reseals due to the internal pressure in the container. The pin may be secured to the body portion by turning down a flap s (Figs. 8 and 10) or by the provision of a cover plate t (Fig. 13) which holds the pin in position.
