Abstract

675,919. Induction machines. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. Sept. 21, 1950 [Sept. 21, 1949], No. 23224/50. Class 35. A polyphase or pole-changing single-phase winding for dynamo electric machines of the disc-type is flat and is accommodated in substantially radial open slots. Fig. 1 shows a stator core 1 having radial slots 2 in which coils 30, 31 are placed. Fig. 2 shows three layers 3, 4, 5 of flat windings inserted in the slots 2 of the stator core 1 and a rotor 7 having squirrel cage winding 8. Each coil can be separately machine wound, e.g. into a sleeve 40 the edges 50 of which ca be turned over after the winding operation. The sleeve may consist of spun foil, e.g. triacetate foil secured by a solution e.g. methylene chloride. The coils may be made to withstand high voltages. They may be externally metallized. For still higher voltages, the coils have metallic intersheaths or coatings within their dielectric.
