Abstract

675,807. Supporting lamps. SINGER, M. J. March 31, 1950 [July 15, 1949], No. 8157/50. Class 75(iii) A reflector 13 containing a tubular or other electric lamp is pivoted about the common axis of pins 11, 18 provided in a block 16 projecting from the back of the reflector and engaging with recessed parts 5, 4 in the arms of a U-shaped member 17 fixed to a machine to be illuminated. The pin 11 is longitudinally displaceable against the action of a spring 12 to enable the pins to be inserted into the co-operating recesses. The part 4 is insulated from the U-shaped member 17 and is electrically connected to a supply lead 8, whilst the pin 18 is electrically connected by a conductor 9 to a contact bracket 10 secured to but insulated from the reflector 13, and in engagement with one of the lamp terminals. The opposite lamp terminal is supplied through the reflector 13, and the parts 16, 11, 5 and 17 which are in electrical contact, the latter part having a supply lead 7.
