Abstract

675,370. Potato peelers. LORD, W. R. Dec. 22, 1949, No. 32841/49. Class 28 (ii). [Also in Group I] In a runner bean &c. cutter or slicer or a potato peeler a safety razor blade or a broken half blade 7 is located by its holes being placed over abutment pips 6 and then securably pressed against a back plate by swinging a clamping lever 16 about its pivot 17 until its outer end jams into a hook like recess 10. The lever 16 is bowed to press against the blade until it becomes straight and is chamfered at 18 to provide clearance for the cut beans. The flared front guard 12 is shaped to provide a narrow clearance 13 for fine cutting and a wide clearance 14 for coarse cutting, these clearances being segregated by a finger 15.
