Abstract
675,242. Stoves. SCHWARTZKOPF, F. March 1, 1950 [March 2, 1949], No. 5207/50. Class 126 In a stove in which the combustion products are returned to the fire through a conduit connecting the space above the fire with a chamber beneath the grate the lower end of said conduit adjacent said chamber is formed as a horizontally extending suction nozzle which widens towards said chamber and the upper wall of which rises towards the chamber. In the stove shown the fuel basket is formed of hollow tubes 2 and is covered by a hood 6 the gas collecting space so formed being in communication with a chamber 4 beneath the revolving grate 3 by means of a conduit 8, 9, 10. An exhaust flue 14 is detachably connected to a pipe socket 13 located in the conduit the flow of combustion gases thereto being controlled by a flap valve 15. A deflector 16 mounted over the hood 6 deflects the hot air and combustion gases rising between the fuel basket and the casing 1. When starting up the stove the flap 15 is opened to allow combustion gases to pass direct to the atmosphere, but when the fuel is well alight the flap 15 is closed causing thereby the return of the gases to the fire via the conduit.
