Abstract
674,913. Cement, treating slag. TRIEF, V. July 14, 1950 [July 20, 1949], No. 17701/50. Class 22 A paste of granulated wet ground blast. furnace slag without a setting agent has the water in excess of 20 per cent removed therefrom, the resulting thick paste is moulded into articles which have their water content reduced to at least 5 per cent, whereafter the articles are crushed to give a cementitious powder. The reduction of water content to 20 per cent may be effected by adding the dried product from a prior operation. Sand or grit may be added to the paste before moulding to give a mortar on adding an activator e.g. soda.
