672,624. Cathode-ray tube defecting systems. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Nov. 29,. 1950 [Dec. 2, 1949], No. 29215/50. Class 39 (i). To reduce third degree error raster distortion 'and astigmatism in a cathode-ray tube deflecting system, the saddle coils each embrace an angle of more than 120 degrees round the neck of the tube at the screen end, and less than 120 degrees at the other end. The sides of the coil may be sloping relative to the axis of the tube, or be parallel to the axis with a perpendicular part half-way along (as shown in full lines developed in a plane), Fig. 2. -
