670,349. Surgical pessaries. DODD, A. H. April 6, 1950 [April 20, 1949], No. 10477/49. Drawings to Specification. Class 81 (ii). A ring pessary for uterine support comprises a core consisting of side members, formed of metal rods, connected together by helical springs screwed on to the threaded ends of the rods, the core being encased in an inner sheath of soft rubber and the whole being encased in an outer sheath of rubber or synthetic resin material. The spring end members may be soldered to the side members and the ends may be reinforced by adhesive fabric applied between the inner and outer sheaths.
