Abstract

682,096. Fishing-rods. LINDSAY, G. S. Feb. 19, 1951 [Feb. 21, 1950], No. 4403/50. Class 48. A bait-casting rod is made in two sections, .comprising a butt-section 1 which has a socket 2 at its outer end to receive the helically coiled end 7 of a section 5 consisting of a single length of wire terminating in an integral eyelet 6 which. may be lined with a ring of agate or other wear-resisting material. The portion of the coil 7 that engages within the socket 2 may be embedded in a plug 8 of rubber or other yielding material. Intermediate rod-rings may be provided on at least one of the sections. The butt-section 1 may be hollow throughout to form a housing or case for the other section, which is inserted, eyeletted end first, through the socket 2. Loose rings 4 are provided for the attachment of a reel on the handle 3 of the buttsection.
