Abstract

670,271. Mooring buoys; alighting channel for aircraft. FAIREY AVIATION CO., Ltd. Feb. 17, 1950 [Feb. 22, 1949], No. 4821/49. Classes 4 and 113 (i). A mooring for a marine marker or the like comprises two rigid arms 12 (Fig. 1) such as rods, arranged in inverted V formation, the free ends of the V being hingedly mounted on foundations 10 and the apex of the V being provided with a universal or like joint 13, 14 for the attachment thereto of a marker 15. The foundations may be constituted by a. strip (or strips) 18 (Fig. 4) of rigid mesh material secured on the sea bottom or secured by cables 21, 22, to anchorage points 20 for maintaining it submerged in a substantially fixed position irrespective of changes in water level. The strip 18 ma.y have a series of pairs of rigid arms 16 arranged in inverted V formation, each pair locating a flare float 15, which floats are arranged in two parallel lines to define a flare path.
