Abstract
330,121. Reno, J. W. Feb. 12, 1929, [Convention date]. Rafts.-A series of floats are connected by flexible connections so as to produce a buoyant structure which may be folded into small space for stowage. Each float 1 mab be built up of two parts 7, 8 which are clamped by screws 9 on to a rope 2. The part of the rope between adjacent floats is longer than the width of the float. This permits of folding the raft which is shown extended in Fig. 1 to the compact parcel shown in Fig. 5, which may be secured by a band 12 the ends of which are stuck with a water soluble cement and protected by a readily removable waterproof paper cover 14. A boom 4 may be fastened by snap-hooks to the raft by which it may be towed.
