Abstract

670,080. Disconnectible couplings. TECALEMIT, Ltd., and LE CLAIR, C. C. S. July 28, 1949 [Sept. 16, 1948], No. 24383/48. Class 99 (i) A grease gun nozzle for use with resilient teats such as described in Specification 638,900 comprises in conjunction means consisting of a soft resilient ring 11, e.g. of rubber or felt, which is mounted within the nozzle or under the pressure of grease fed into the nozzle to apply pressure radially or laterally to the side of the teat so as to distort and open it and a hollow movable lubricant injector 4 which is then actuated by the pressure of grease fed into the nozzle to enter the passage in the teat. The nozzle comprises inner and outer sleeves 1, 7 respectively which are relatively movable to distort the ring 11. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the outer sleeve is integral with the grease gun and a hollow piston is slidable therein, under the pressure of the grease, to compress the ring 11, the injector being slidably mounted in the piston.
