(Also in Group XVIII) An electric traffic signalling device for attachment to the arm of cyclists or drivers of vehicles not having built-in signalling means comprises a metal casing a (Fig. 1), containing a dry battery c, and a transparent plastic tubular or halfround member b held together by shaped metal endpieces a<SP>2</SP>, a<SP>3</SP> and a longitudinal bolt d, and nut d<SP>1</SP>. A small part a<SP>1</SP> of the casing a is bent up at right angles to carry a lamp and holder which lie parallel to the casing within member b. A main switch in the end-piece a<SP>2</SP> comprises a piece of fibre insulation f<SP>2</SP>, nut n<SP>1</SP> fixed to the end-piece with a small screw n running therein so as to contact the end of battery c when screwed in. The other end-piece a<SP>3</SP> contains two thin pieces of fibre insulation f and f<SP>1</SP> the former carrying. contacts g and g<SP>1</SP> to connect respectively with the lamp and battery. These contacts are joined to the ends of twin flexible wires which are connected to a push button finger-switch, Fig. 2 (not shown), so that the lamp circuit may be completed by pressure on the said finger switch. A springy clasp e is pivotally attached to the casing a (see especially Fig. 5) for'clipping the device to the forearm near the wrist, and the finger switch has a similar but smaller clasp for clipping round a finger. The device may be made almost entirely in plastic material in which case the fibre insulation. pieces can be dispensed with, but a metal strip must be provided to effect the connection between nut n and the lamp holder.
