Class 82(i) [Also in Group XII] A cylindrical high-frequency electric melting furnace, mounted on two pairs of parallel journals 2, 3 resting in open bearings 4, 5 respectively, is provided with means 7, 6 for tilting the furnace in one direction about the journals 2 for tapping through mouth 1a and in the opposite direction about the journals 3 for slag removal through slag mouth 1b. The tilting mechanisms 7, 6 are interlocked so that they cannot be operated simultaneously.
