Abstract

667,848. Cycle supports. LLOYD'S CYCLES, Ltd., W. A. Oct. 6. 1950 [May 20, 1950]. No. 12578/50. Class 136(i) In a bicycle stand of the kind comprising a folding stay 5 pivoted to a bracket 4 which is secured to the underside of the cycle chain stays 1 adjacent the bottom bracket 2, by means of a top clamping member 8 connected by a bolt 10 to a bottom clamping member 7, the top clamping member 8 is of an inverted U-form with two spaced depending sides 8b, each with downwardly converging edges 8c, forming transverse wedge-like parts adapted to enter and to fit closely between the cycle chain stays. The bottom clamping member 7 is welded to the top 3 of the bracket 4 and is of an undulating form having a transverse arched part 7a, recessed parts 7b and upwardly directed end edges 7c which diverge, in plan, in a direction away from the bottom bracket 2. When diverging stays are used, Fig. 4, the edges 7c of the member 7 grip the sides of the stays and the member 8 tilts in a rearward direction, Fig. 1, a large hole 9 being provided in the member 8. When th stays are parallel, Fig. 7, the arched part 7a of the member 7 is gripped between the stays 1a and the member 8 remains horizontal.
