667,791. Making engine rocker arms. TOLEDO STAMPING & MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 19, 1949 [Sept. 3, 1948], No. 21649/49. Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv). [Also in Group XXVII] Jointing by stamping.-In a rocker arm formed of metal layers 2 spot-welded together and having hub flanges 3 drawn out therefrom to form a hub-opening 19, a bushing 11 is fitted in the opening 19 and compressed axially so that it expands into the annular groove between the edges of the layers 2, to lock the bushing in position. An oil groove 14 is formed on the inside of the bushing 11 by the compression process. A bearing sleeve 13 is pressed into the bushing 11, and is lubricated through a passage 16. The sleeve 13 may be omitted. Specification 528,997, [Group XXVII], is referred to.
