Abstract

In soldering metal parts by heating the parts with solder between them to a temperature at which a portion of the solder is molten to wet the surfaces and a portion is solid to maintain the joint thickness the following solders are employed: (a) Ag, 40-70 per cent; Cu, 25-55 per cent; Zn, 5-15 per cent; Ni 0-7 per cent; (b) Ag, 5-30 per cent; Cu, 15-70 per cent; Zn, 15-40 per cent; Cd, 2-15 per cent; (c) Ag, 54 per cent; Cu, 40 per cent; Zn, 5 per cent; Ni, 1 per cent; with 35 per cent of tungsten particles; (d) Ag, 20 per cent; Cu, 45 per cent; Zn, 30 per cent; Cd, 5 per cent; (e) Ag, 50 per cent; Cu, 15.5 per cent; Zn, 16.5 per cent; Cd, 18 per cent; with 30 per cent of tungsten particles.
