Abstract

[Also in Group XII] The lining of a combustion chamber for a gas turbine power plant (see Group XII) comprises a fused coating of high melting point glass and granular magnesia. Suitable glass compositions are given, in percentages as silica 64, ferric oxide 21, alumina 1, sodium monoxide 14 or silica 53, ferric oxide 17, alumina 14, sodium monoxide 14, potassium monoxide 2. The glass is applied as a slurry, dried and fired and a further slurry containing magnesia (mesh 40-60) 78, clay 2, glass 20 is also applied, dried and fired to give the desired thickness of coating.
