665,887. Chain-wheels. FISHER & LUDLOW, Ltd. June 30, 1949 [July 10, 1948], No. 18592/48. Class 80 (i). [Also in Group XXX] A driving sprocket wheel for a chain conveyer, particularly for a conveyer chain 10 of the type described in Specification 639,244, [Group XXX], and embodying the modifications of Specifications 665,883, [Group XXV], and 665,884, [Group XXX], comprises two toothed members spaced axially and a chain driven wheel disposed between them concentrically, the toothed members and the chain driven members being mounted on a common bearing in driving association. Chain driven wheel 12 is driven from a motor 19 through a gear box 16 the chain wheel on the output shaft being small so that a large part of the reduction is obtained in the chain drive. The two toothed members 11 are detachably secured by means of a plurality of bolts 26 to a hub consisting of two axially spaced parts 22, 23, having flanges formed so as to provide a space for mounting the chain wheel which comprises two toothed discs 24 separated by a distance piece 25. Bolts 26 pass through the whole assembly to form a rigid unit. A bearing sleeve 28 in the hub is provided with a flange 31. The wheel is mounted on a stationary shaft 29 carried by structure 30. A plate 32 secured to the end of the shaft retains the wheel in place.
