665,753. Milking machines. GASCOIGNES (READING), Ltd., and KINGSTON, J. A. March 9, 1950 [March 15, 1949] No. 7049?49. Class 84. A portable pneumatic milking machine mounted on a wheeled chassis has two horizontal arms 29, 32 supported for pivotal movement on uprights 30 and each carrying two teat clusters and their associated pulsators 40, 41. The vacuum is applied to the teat cups through milk pipes 42 and the pulsator vacuum through the arms, which are hollow. The milk from each teat cup cluster is delivered to containers 46 which actuate yield measuring devices 47, the whole assembly being mounted on the upright 30 for movement therewith. The milk is delivered to common containers 50 and may then be passed either direct or through cooler 59 to churns 15. The milk flow is maintained in the system by applying controlled vacuum, and to this end the churns are also under vacuum. The source of vacuum may be by a trailing hose 71 or self contained. Water is supplied to the cooler through hose 73. The tubular chassis forms part of the vacuum and water circuits. Self-contained power drive may be fitted. According to the Provisional Specification the milk receiver and vacuum cooler may be constructed as described in Specification 604,157, the teat cup cluster as in Specifications 604,157 and 648,455. Only one swing- able arm (29, 32) may be provided.
