Abstract

665,065. Batteries. CHLORIDE ELECTRICAL STORAGE CO., Ltd. Sept. 26, 1950 [Oct. 26, 1949], No. 27507/49. Class 53. [Also in Group XVII] A device for adding water to an accumulator from a bottle b consists of a part a having an inclined neck c leading to two passages f, g, the lower end of the passage g terminating above the lower end of passage f. When the bottle is tilted to the horizontal position, as shown in Fig. 5, the spout rests on the battery separators h, water passing down the passage f and air flowing up the passage g. The device may be made of rubber, polyvinyl chloride or other soft and resilient material to prevent damage to the separators h. To limit the extent to which the spout is inserted in the battery it may be formed with a collar which rests on the battery lid.
