663,742. Textile doubling and twisting. BRUCKNER, L. April 27, 1948 [July 10, 1947; Dec. 13, 1947], Nos. 11502/48 and 11503/48. Class 120(ii) A device for twisting or doubling of the kind in which threads from delivery bobbins are twisted before they pass to nip rollers to receiving bobbins has the delivery bobbins feeding each receiving bobbin arranged behind another in transverse groups so as to form a plurality of rows parallel to the line of the receiving bobbins, the delivery bobbins of each group being rotated by a common drive. Delivery bobbins 1 on spindles 11 are rotated from a common shaft 8 through friction surfaces 21, 22, or toothed wheels. The central part of spindle 11 is held in a bearing 15 arranged in a slide-block 17 displaceable against the action of a spring. A conicalended stud 19, screwed in the slide-block 17, may be jammed in a friction body 20 to hold the spindle 11 out of driving engagement. Threads from the delivery bobbins 1 pass through rollers 4 to an ordinary twisting spindle. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also means whereby the spindle may be held out of engagement by a resilient member pressed onto the spindle, or by a yielding element snapping beneath a collar. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
