[Also in Groups XV and XXV] The contact-control mechanism is of the kind shown in Fig. 7 in which a spring loaded displaceable member 14 when displaced to the closing position, is retained by engagement of a blade spring 5 with the step 4a of an abutment 4. To open the switch the member 14 is given a further small displacement so that the end of the spring 5 engages a cam surface 4b on the abutment to deflect the spring sideways when the member 14 is released, so that the parts can return to their initial positions. In Fig. 25, the springs 5 form the contacts and are connected by interconnected conducting parts 7 of insulating abutments 4 on each side of the plunger 40. In Fig. 26, the plunger 41 is controlled by an arched spring 1 insulated for finger operation at the top of the arch, and carries a spring 5 forming one contact. The abutment 4 forms the other contact and the circuit is made in the position shown and broken by depressing the spring 1. Other arrangements are described.
