712,122. Press-button retractive switches. LUCAS (INDUSTRIES), Ltd., J. Sept. 23, 1952 [Sept. 24, 1951],'no. 22305/51. Class 38(5) A switch in which a predetermined time interval must elapse between successive closing operations, comprises a finger piece e slidable on a stem d connected to a piston b of a dash pot cylinder a. A metal extension h attached to the finger piece e has an indentation i which moves a catch piece g, slidable in the stem d, to the left upon depression of the finger piece e to take up the lostmotion between itself and the stem. An end of the catch g then overlies an insulating. contact-carrying disc k slidable on the stem d so that on further depression of the finger piece the disc k is moved and an annular contact m bridges fixed resilient contacts n. On release of the finger piece, a spring f moves the indentation i to disengage the catch g, whereupon a spring p moves the disc k over the catch and opens the contacts m, n. The stem d returns slowly under the action of a spring c and the dash pot, and until the catch g has passed back through the disc k, reclosing of the switch is not possible.
