Abstract
662,373. Press-button retractive switches; tumbler switches. SCHOLES & CO., Ltd., G. H., PEARCE, F. J. and PEARCE, G. S. July 11, 1950. [June 22, 1949] No. 16547/49. Class 38 (v). The movable contact plate a is arranged to pivot about a fixed contact c into and out of engagement with a further fixed contact b, springs d, e acting on the plate a on opposite sides of its pivotal point. In one form, Figs. 2, 4, spring e is guided by a plunger h acted on by a lever g and dolly f, operation of the dolly to the Fig. 2 position compressing spring e to close the contacts and operation to the Fig. 4 position allowing spring d to open the contacts. In a double-pole switch, Fig. 5, four springs are arranged between two plates a and two operating plates g which have turned-over ends engaging in recesses i in the switch housing, a dolly being arranged to engage the parts g<SP>1</SP> of plates g to close the contacts. The contacts may, alternatively, be closed by a push-button or solenoid-operated mechanism.
