Abstract

In making bearing liners, sleeve bearings &c. by sintering or casting bearing metal into a steel backing, this is electrolytically polished and a mild flux, e.g. lactic acid with glycerine, tallow, palm oil, or resin, may be applied after a light acid etch, e.g. with nitric acid.
