Abstract
661,333. Pressure cookers. BUCHERSPECK & CIE. June 30,1949 [July 29,1948], No. 17327/49. Class 123(i) A pressure cooker 1, having an outwardly directed flange 2 for coacting with a rim 4 of the lid 3, has a lid clamping device comprising two spaced limbs 7 extending substantially diametrically across the top of the lid 3, the limbs 7 being connected at one side by a yoke 8 for engagement under the flange 2 and bridged adjacent the other side by a member 11 carrying a pivoted hook 12 which can be engaged beneath the rim of the vessel at that side to urge and retain said limbs yieldingly in engagement with the top of the lid. When the steam pressure within the vessel exceeds a predetermined value, the limbs yield and permit the lid to rise and relieve said pressure. The ends of the limbs 7 nearest to the hook 12 are fitted in a handle 10 and the hook 12 is formed integrally with a lever 14 by which it is operated. A safety valve 6 is provided in the lid and a sealing ring 5 is placed between the rim 4 and flange 2.
